The Use of Famous Art
as an Adjunct to a Resort
or Attraction in in Mid East
(05/09/08)
The name Salvador Dalí needs no introduction.
Dalí was unquestionably one of the great
artistic giants of this past century. His profound
surrealist vision and artistic talent produced
memorable artworks that have never
diminished in their popularity with the public. Dalí exhibitions have broken all attendance
records at international museums. Global art market has recently seen significant
increases, both in terms of the volume of works
offered for sale at public auction and of their
respective values. In 2006, some 9,200 fine art auctions were
held worldwide for a total value of $ 6.4 billion:
a 52% increase on 2005.

New Dali Museum unveiled
(04/22/08)
City Council members were shown this rendering today. Dali officials said some details of the design will change.
ST. PETERSBURG--The City Council approved the initial designs for the Salvador Dali Museum’s new building Thursday. Dubbed Placa Dali, the avant-garde waterfront structure will feature a cascading river of glass spilling out from the center of an unadorned, three story building. The glass, which the museum is calling the "Engima," will serve as both entrance and skylight to the main structure, called the "Treasure Box." The Engima will mimic the shape of a helical staircase that will spiral 28 feet from the ground floor to the museum's main third level gallery. Dali's work was heavily influenced by the discovery of DNA and the double helix in the 1950's.Placa Dali will also include a 31,000 square foot elevated plaza near the building's entrance that will be used for outdoor dining and museum events.

Dollar v. Euro v. Pound
(08/08/07)
Recent developments in the disparity between the US Dollar as it contrasts the EURO and the British Pound have disproportionately mitigated sales in these areas from our galleries in the United States. An variable exchange rate of approximately $1.37 for the EURO and $2.02 for the British Pound enables our European collectors much more buying power and investment capability. While the US Patriot Act and the Sarbanes-Oxley acts have quelled many of the foreign interests in real estate, corporate and securities investments, art seems to be immune due to the fact of its permanence and tangibility. Salvador Dali's Monumental CARMEN sold 6 months ago to the city of Pozuelo de Alarcon for 290,000 EUR (400,000 USD). The Monumental TERPSICHORE #1/2 sold to the city of Bilbao and installed near the Guggenheim Museum went for 696,000 EURO (Nearly 1 Million) . And ANTHROPOMORPHIC CABINET just sold in Brussels for 400,000 EUR (550,000 USD). (It was the last piece of an edition of 12.) |

DALI OR AL PACINO?
(02/02/07)
Evviva. Evviva.
-Ljuba Rizzoli -VANITY FAIR, Monte Carlo- February 2007
ENGLISH: My friend Jordi Casals, official [photographer] of the Montecarlo Salvador Dalí Collection, telephoned me: "You know Ljuba, they called me from Hollywood about the film of SALVADOR DALÍ with AL PACINO. They want that I give permission for some of my unpublished photographs". "Well it is fantastic", I responded. He possesses an extraordinary collection of images of the "Father" of the Surrealism, so I gave them some. This is a 1958 (photograph) in which Dalí resembles AL PACINO: two drops of water. Little and between sará like if the brilliant teacher was hairpin curve here, to It. Hurray. Hurray.
