The first Android N Developer Preview is outside today as anticipated. Right about that time last year, Android Oreo DP1 was released too. It does not even feel like Oreo is so old since hardly anyone has obtained the Oreo update. Besides associates of an Google Pixel or Nexus device, or a few of the flagships from some other OEMs most consumers are still waiting. Nothing new, of course, in the Android world. Anyways, therefore Android N is out today for the developers and the fans, and it brings in quite a few visual changes. Among a lot of other items, Android N also brings some new inventory wallpapers. And of course, you can download them here.
What is new
Android P, as you may have heard, supports iPhone X like notches. Not my favorite thing, but it is there. I wouldn’t be shocked if the next Pixel telephones from Google’d notches too. Somehow a lot of Android OEMs appear to have agreed on notches except Samsung, and Sony and HTC, for today, among the larger names. Quick notifications and settings have also been redesigned and I would state for the better. They look more lively today. You can view them at the screenshot below, courtesy: The Verge
Google is actually going in on all those curves and this holds the case also for the pier on the Pixel launcher, which now has a small curve into the corners. I am not a lover.
The preferences app has been tweaked yet again and it looks a whole lot cleaner using bolder, more vibrant rounded icons. The proposals shirt are now exhibited as smaller cards that distinguishes them better from the actual preferences menu.
Not a great deal has changed beneath the surface which is a fantastic thing, that would’ve caused confusions. If you remember, Android Oreo brought the Power menu in the center to the side, then aligning it with all the power button, so making it simpler to reach too. On Android P, the Power menu increases the Choice of Screenshot. Additionally, the Volume dialog gets the same treatment.
There are probably further changes but it’s merely the first Developer Preview, and it has hardly been a complete day since it is release.
